Sustainable bins arrive in Astillero

April 16, 2017

We are supporting the local community to take care of their natural environment. Often beaches, cities and landscapes in Nicaragua are polluted because there are not enough garbage collection points.

Our “Limpio” campaign includes conservation education, garbage art programs, beach cleanups and provision of facilities to make this happen. These sustainable bins arrived in Astillero last week, and will continue to be installed throughout the community with the help of the local Astillero surf club. A special thanks goes out to our Co-founder and Project Directer Sol Lewites for designing a structure out of recycled materials and using bamboo cladding to improve the aesthetics… you’ve made a garbage can look cool and functional!
