Our vision is to enable the community of El Astillero to operate our programs autonomously and gradually transition from a non-profit organization to a community run social enterprise.
Since its inception, Casa Congo has made its way through 3 hurricanes, a period of political turmoil in Nicaragua and covid-19, which isolated El Astillero from the rest of the world. These adversities have only made Casa Congo stronger and more connected to local communities as we scale our impact and vision for sustainable development.
Casa Congo is now a resilient and safe destination, but we need your support to keep thriving.

How we allocate donations
We appreciate any size donation, every dollar counts for Casa Congo.
If you would like your donation to be spent on specific activities please let us know via email (hola@casacongo.org). To give you an indication of how funds could be allocated, refer to the schedule below.
$5 = plant 1 tree in Chacocente
$15 = save 1 turtle nest
$25 = 1 beach cleanup in El Astillero
$50 = 1 week of ecology education for local students
$100 = 1 week of construction education in our bamboo community workshop
$500 = 1 year management of a marine turtle nursery
$1000 = 1 year apprenticeship in agroecology (Las Flores)
$2500 = 3 year scholarship in agroforestry, ecotourism or bioconstruction
$5000 = 1 WASH kit
$10,000 = build 1 new bamboo home for a homeless family
$25,000 = build 1 new volunteering lodge
$50,000 = build 1 new community farm with agroforestry avanpost
